Aborted Foetus' Found in Rubbish

The remains of 14 aborted foetus' have been found in rubbish bags near a clinic in India. Some will see this as an unfortunate case of mis-managment of medical waste while others will be appalled as it highlights what they see as the legalised murder of unborn people.

It raises another issue that exists within Indian society, and some others. That is aborting foetus' on grounds of gender. Males are more desirable and it is believed that millions of female foetus' have been aborted over the last couple of decades.
If abortion is murder then this is clearly wrong. However, for those who argue that abortion can be acceptable is there anything wrong with this?

How does one decide what is an acceptable reason to have an abortion and what is not?

Aborting on grounds of gender is an atrocity. It has nothing to do with the pro-life/pro-choice movements who argue:
pro-life): life takes precedence over all other issues as it is sacred.
pro-choice): women have the right to decide what is going to happen to their own bodies.

abortion based on gender is the result of people being taught that men are superior and more desirable than women (undoubtedly part of the blame for this lies with judeo-christian theology itself) as it is hardly a hindu belief.

this is an abuse of a procedure which should only be used if:
-it is to save the mother
-if it will spare the suffering of the child if it is to be born with a severe defect
-or if the child has been conceived against the wishes of the mother (such as in cases of rape or molestation).

aborting because the child is a girl is a sick abuse of a procedure which should hardly ever be used.

(and on a slightly unrelated note): let's have people better understand sex and contraception as opposed to being taught "abstinence" as if it's a real world solution. all teaching abstinence is doing is creating more unwanted pregnancies.

there is far too much sadness in the world.
