Many films use philosophical and Theological concepts in their underlying plots.
The Matrix has strong links to Plato's Cave, Signs deals with faith and Minority Report raises the issue of free will.
Have you seen any films that appear to have such an influence?
Probably, but I havn't noticed it. I think every story and even aspects of our lives raise ethical and moral issues, whether we're challenging our family values, religion, or establishing our personal moral codes. I mean, even fairy tales raise issues such as class and peer pressure (Cinderella), greed (Rumpulstiltskin), as well as all family values and so on.
ReplyDeleteSo, we're brought up with these questions, there's probably one in the TV dramas I watch, or the films I see or the books I read, but it's harder to pick out these things when you're not looking for them.
