Are all views and beliefs equally valid or should we be able to say, 'You are wrong'?

Moral Relativism has long been a popular view; appealing as it is tolerant, does not preach and avoids us having to argue why our view is better than someone else's.
However, what should we do when we are faced with something that we really do feel is absolutely wrong?

Nick Griffin, leader of the BNP, has controversial views on immigration, religion and sexuality. Are these views just as valid as anyone else's, as Relativism may suggest, or is he actually wrong?

  1. I was at the anti BNP march, and I have to say I found the militant opposition equally as disgusting. If we try and blantly 'smash' these people, what's going to be the reaction? Of course they're going to fight back. Considering how many young boys were on the BNPs side, I'd say that was a gross failing of the education system. I'm sorry, but shouting SMASH THE BNP, YOU'RE ALL NAZIS LOL is going to get you nowhere.

Not that I'm defending the nasty little man, but he should be allowed to say his views for the sole reason we can then see how many uneducated we're dealing with in this country. It's disgusting how many people are secretly racist and homophobic, and the only good thing about this whole thing is that we finally see the true colours.

What we need to be doing is educating people properly, and then we wouldn't even be in this situation, where five year olds are holding signs saying, "Smash the BNP" and equally, "England is for the English".

This whole situation is completely ridiculous.

What we do when we feel someone is completely wrong is look at where society went wrong in educating them, and to not shout rude things at them and call them nazis and racists.

Not that I'm defending the BNP and their followers, but I do know people are only human, and if desperate people are told immigrants are the reason they can't feed their families, they're likely to believe it. And it's usually, like I say, the uneducated.

  2. i am not for or against the bmp
but i am against everyone who was in the rally.
How can people say everyone should be equal and make a group against fascist but yet dislike the bmp because they dont like there views?
i know a few Asians who are members of the bmp, but the bmp does not have any idea that they are from asian back grounds.

everyone should have a opionion, right or wrong
but what is right for you might feel wrong for someone else.
